General Information of Nanjing Medical University
Nanjing Medical University is a national "double first-class" construction university, the first batch of medical schools jointly established by the Ministry of Education, the National Health Commission and the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, and a class A construction university under the Jiangsu High-level University Construction Peak Plan. The school was founded in 1934, when it was named Jiangsu Provincial College of Medical and Political Science, and was renamed as National Jiangsu Medical College during the Anti-Japanese War. In 1957, it moved from Zhenjiang to Nanjing and changed its name to Nanjing Medical College. In 1962, it was listed as one of the first six-year medical colleges in the country. In 1981, it was approved as the first batch of doctoral and master's degree granting units in the country. In 1993, it was renamed Nanjing Medical University.
The university has Jiangning Campus, Wutai Campus and Lianyungang Campus of Kangda College. The school headquarters has more than 1,900 faculty members. The school currently has 7 academicians (including double-appointed academicians) of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Academy of Sciences, 1 foreign academician of the National Academy of Medicine of the United States, and 78 national-level high-level talents. The school has 6 national-level teaching teams, of which 2 are selected as "National University Huang Danian-style teacher teams"; there are 1 national-level curriculum ideological and political demonstration team, 1 "innovation team" of the Ministry of Education, and 2 national innovation research groups.
The university currently has 8 doctoral degree authorization points for first-level disciplines, 54 doctoral degree authorization points for second-level disciplines, 5 interdisciplinary doctoral degree authorization points, and 2 professional doctoral degree authorization points; 11 master degree authorization points for first-level disciplines, two There are 65 master degree authorization points for first-level disciplines; 6 post-doctoral research stations, and degree authorization points cover 7 disciplines of medicine, science, engineering, management, law, education and literature; it has 3 national key disciplines, national key ( Cultivation) 1 discipline, 29 national key clinical specialties, and 6 advantageous disciplines (Phase III) in Jiangsu universities. In the fourth round of national discipline evaluation, public health and preventive medicine were rated A+, clinical medicine, basic medicine, stomatology, and nursing were rated B+, and pharmacy was rated B; 9 disciplines ranked top in the ESI global rankings Among them, the disciplines of clinical medicine, pharmacology and toxicology rank among the top 1‰ of the ESI global rankings.
