Northeastern University General Information
Northeastern University (NEU) was founded on April 26, 1923. In its history of over 90 years, the university has formed its unique spirit: “Striving constantly for improvement and behaving in conformity with truth”. It located in Shenyang City, Liaoning Province, is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Northeastern University is jointly built by the Ministry of Education, Liaoning Province, and Shenyang City. Northeastern University is a world-class university construction university and one of the first batch of national "Project 211" and "Project 985" key construction universities. Northeastern University is a multidisciplinary university with a focus on engineering, covering philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, science, engineering, management, art, etc.

There are 76 undergraduate programs, including 15 state-level characteristic programs and 15 state-level first-class undergraduate programs. There are 24 doctoral programs in first-level disciplines, 121 doctoral programs in second-level disciplines, 36 master's programs in first-level disciplines, 183 master's programs in second-level disciplines, 4 doctor's degrees in engineering and 15 master's degrees in engineering. There are 19 post-doctoral mobile stations; There are 3 first-level national key disciplines, 4 second-level national key disciplines and 1 state key (cultivation) discipline, covering 16 second-level disciplines in total. Engineering ranks top 1‰ in ESI world.
The university has fully released the leading radiation effect of first-class discipline construction, and has formed a pattern of discipline construction with peak leading, plateau supporting, excellence promoting, characteristics affecting, and sustainable development.
At present, Northeastern University has more than 48,000 undergraduate students, master's students and doctoral students.
Northeastern University Scholarship
At present, Northeastern University offers the following scholarships: Chinese Government Scholarship, Liaoning Provincial Government Scholarship and International Chinese Language Teacher Scholarship. It covers tuition and accommodation, as well as some living allowance and can greatly reduce the financial burden of international students.
Northeastern University Cooperation and Exchange
Opening up to the world, Northeastern University has established long-term academic cooperation with 219 universities and institutions in 36 countries and regions. To bring in more overseas talents of various disciplines, the university has established 4 National Innovation Centers. Besides, more than 300 overseas well-known experts are invited to give lectures or participate in cooperative scientific research projects each year. In order to enhance students’ international vision and academic capability, the university actively expands overseas exchange programs including state-funded study abroad, joint training, exchange study, short-term exchange visits and overseas internships.
